ASH TREE TUTORING
Mercer Island and Bellevue
I would be honored to help your elementary, middle, or high school student catch up, gain proficiency, or get ahead of the curve this summer and beyond. Reading/writing, math through Algebra 2, basic science, physics, chemistry, history, Spanish, and ACT/SAT preparation are all available, though I have the most experience in teaching math and writing to middle schoolers.
I love learning and teaching. I have a deep understanding of different learning styles and have been successful in helping students of all ages. Private tutoring comes naturally to me as I have a steady, patient and gentle personality. I have developed individualized middle school summer study plans and tutored a variety of ages over the years.
Having recently graduated with a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Lewis & Clark College, I plan to pursue graduate studies in Cultural and Environmental Resource Management. My interests are broad and I also excelled in all honors and AP courses (science, math, language arts, history, Spanish and psychology) while attending Mercer Island High School. I scored a perfect 36 across the board in all sections of the ACT.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, birding, fiction writing, practicing Kendo and working as an activity guide for the bat monitoring program at the Seward Park Audubon Center. I recently returned from Cuenca, Ecuador where I received a proficiency diploma from Amauta Spanish School.
